I’m no expert here but depending on the branch, everybody gets 3 or 4 uniforms initially issued free. Officers pay some percentage.
Yes Federal and State. Some states dont tax you though.
Our troops shouldn’t have to pay taxes out of their check. Specially if their overseas. Our government is a joke!

It’s the benefits in thelong run trust in the end it will pay off greatly do the 20 yrs and retire or wk until 70 yrs old 😳

Actually, I was OK with the money myself as I recall. Prior to the Army, I made $2.00 per hour working PT at Jack n the box.

in 76 we got 371$ a month

Sounds right to me. Gasoline was about .50 cents per gallon in 76 as I recall. Thank you for your service.
in 81 it went up to about $560 a month
