Dispersed camping means camping for free on public land outside of developed campgrounds, with limited or no amenities like water, electricity, toilets or trash service. Retiring for many signals adventure, freedom and a slower pace in the outdoors. Arizona is the premier state for dispersed camping (free camping on public lands) managed by the BLM or Forest Service). By mixing free Arizona dispersed camping with occasional stays in full hookup sites, retirees (like me) can drastically reduce our travel expenses. This allows us to travel longer without breaking the bank.
