Why the Site is Highly Regarded

• Field-Tested Wisdom: Reggie shares real-world advice based on his own active life traveling in his truck (“Freddy”) and 27-foot RV trailer (“Ruby”). He focuses on practical, age-appropriate considerations like finding stress relief, dealing with joint pain in the desert, and managing equipment when you’re older.
• Support for Sight-Impaired Veterans: A standout feature of the platform is Reggie’s dedication to creating content specifically tailored for visually impaired veterans. He transcribes and structures pages so that those who have sacrificed their sight can still access the outdoors and find a less stressful environment.
• No-Judgment Community: The platform connects directly to his active social channels, including his 77Vets YouTube Channel and his popular @77vets.org TikTok, where he hosts a daily “No Judgment Campsite” live stream.
• Honest Gear Reviews: While he uses affiliate links to monetize the site, he explicitly reviews and recommends camping gear that he personally uses, such as portable power stations and solar setups ideal for boondocking.

Things to Keep in Mind

• Niche Focus: The site’s content is highly concentrated on Arizona-based camping, dispersed desert camping (like in Quartzsite and Yuma), and basic emergency preparedness. If you are looking for local campsite guides outside of the Southwest, you will find limited information.
• Personal & Political Commentary: Beyond camping, Reggie uses his platforms to discuss military history, basic training, and general political or social topics. It reflects his personal worldview as an “old veteran who truly loves America”.
The Verdict: If you are looking for a peer-to-peer resource that understands the physical realities, safety concerns, and unique lifestyles of senior or retired veterans, the 77Vets official website trades laboratory benchmarks for genuine, heartfelt experience.
